PPL ground school tuition provided by a PPL Guide instructor is a great way to brush up on your knowledge, whatever stage you’re at. You’ll be safe in the knowledge that your tuition will be provided by a hand picked, qualified, expert instructor who will make sure you finish with the information you need.
Ground exams are, for many people, a very challenging element of the PPL course. It may have been years since you last set foot in a classroom. What even is a slide rule? The nine exams you have to complete are set by the CAA and cover nine subjects. It’s common to find some subjects you’re a whizz at, and some that need a little more work.
What does it cost?
Our professional ground school sessions cost just £40 per hour. For this you will have a skilled instructor discuss your course and needs, and work with you to make the most of your time and money. You can rest safe in the knowledge that you won’t be spending money on unnecessary training time, and you’ll have the best chance of getting through your exams on the first attempt.
What’s the benefit?
PPL Guide ground school tuition will give you the best chance of passing your ground exams first time, and help you better understand the concepts of your flying lessons too. Every ground exam you have to retake will cost £57*, every extra flying hour will cost £200*, and a retake on the PPL skills test due to lack of knowledge or confidence in your subjects could cost as much as £600!* Suddenly a few hours of ground school sounds like a good financial investment…
*See our budget guide for how we arrive at these figures

“I wouldn’t have a PPL if it wasn’t for Matt. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about all things aviation, but able to explain complex topics in a way that makes them not only understandable but also memorable – and if the first explanation doesn’t work, there will always be a Plan B that will. I’d recommend Matt to anyone who wants a thorough and comprehensive grounding in the theory (and practice!) of flying – not only is he a great instructor, he’s ever so patient, encouraging and a genuinely good bloke. 100% recommended”
